Implementing Asta Teamplan
There are six key stages to the Asta Teamplan implementation process. The process is very practical and has been carefully designed to ensure organisations get maximum benefit from the solution.

A major focus is identifying and meeting the needs of different types of users, such as team members, team leaders and senior managers. The training covers technical details and functionality, as well as softer issues such as user acceptance.
We recommend most organisations follow the full implementation process. However we also offer a basic installation which may be suitable if the solution is supporting up to 3 project managers and 25 timesheet users.
Stage 1 : Requirement consultation
The process starts with consultation on the organisation's requirements for Asta Teamplan. This includes considering who will be using the solution, how they will be using it and what they want to achieve.
Stage 2: Implementation planning
For full implementations, this consists of an Implementation Planning Workshop (IPW) day where up to 8 delegates from the organisation discuss their requirements for the structure of Asta Teamplan and any specific reports they require. A detailed report is then created based on the results of the workshop.
For basic installations we provide one consultancy day where two delegates discuss the basic configuration they require to get the system up and running. There is no report after the consultation.
Stage 3: Project set-up
Based on the information gathered at the IPW or consultancy day, we configure Asta Teamplan to meet the bespoke requirements of each organisation. This involves creating the required templates, permanent resource structure, calendars, work patterns, relevant views tables and reports.
Stage 4: Installation
We install Asta Teamplan on your organisation's IT system as required and provide server administration training.
For basic installations, the project set-up and installation are combined into one day however for full implementations they take place on two separate days.
Stage 5: Training
We recommend that each Asta Teamplan user undergoes a three day training programme, the exact details of which will be discussed and agreed in the initial consultation process.
After the training, we provide tailored training notes that accompany the standard training manual. These tailored notes are bespoke to each organisation and provide specific guidelines on how different roles (e.g. team leader, team member) should use the solution. They also include "how to" guidelines for performing common tasks.
Basic installations have two days training which covers the core elements of the system, but excludes the more advanced features. They also receive the standard training manual but not the tailored notes.
Stage 6: Post implementation review
This one-day activity normally takes place one month after the "go live" date. Together with the client we review the implementation, user acceptance of the system, successes and future refinements required, and also consider the need for any additional training.
Ongoing support
To ensure successful, long-term implementation we recommend organisations take an annual support contract. This includes phone and email access to a dedicated support consultant, free software upgrades, user group meetings and regular e-newsletters full of useful hints and tips along with industry updates.
