System Requirements for Asta Teamplan

At the heart of the Asta Teamplan Solution is the Asta Teamplan client/server system with a centralised database.  There are four optional products: Asta Timesheet, Asta Project Browser, Asta Portfolio Reporter and Asta Team Alert.

The database can be hosted on either Oracle (8, 9 and 10g) or SQL (Server 2000 and Server 2005 - Enterprise, Standard, Workgroup and Express Editions).

Important note here for Oracle and SQL database users.

Windows 95, Windows 98, Windows Me, Windows NT 4.0, Windows 2000, and Windows XP have built-in network software.

Additional network software is required if you are using Banyan VINES or AppleTalk ADSP. Novell NetWare IPX/SPX client support is provided by the NWLink protocol of Windows-based networking.
Client Support

Windows 957, Windows 98, Windows Me, Windows NT Workstation 4.0, Windows 2000 Professional, Windows XP Professional, and Windows XP Home Edition are supported.

UNIX, Apple Macintosh, and OS/2 require Open Database Connectivity (ODBC) client software from a non-Microsoft vendor.

Asta Team Alert is unsuitable for use on Windows Vista operating systems.

Oracle and SQL Database Users - Please Note

Customers who opt to host Asta Teamplan on either an Oracle or MS SQL database are responsible for ensuring that they are correctly licensed for using their chosen database. Oracle and MS SQL licensing requirements are that a customer must possess EITHER a database access licence for each unique Asta Teamplan/Asta Timesheet user OR a processor licence for the machine on which the database is hosted. Customers already using  MS SQL or Oracle for other applications may already possess the correct number of database licences. Asta Development accepts no responsibility for  the non-compliance of Asta Teamplan customers with prevailing Oracle and MS SQL licensing terms.
